What is an IFSP?
Your Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) will be your roadmap through the Birth to Three System. It will show you where you are starting from and where you plan to go. You and your service coordinator will check it periodically to ensure that you and your child are still on course. You have valuable information and insight about your child's strengths, needs, likes and dislikes. At this training, you will get familiarized with local IFSP forms, all aspects of the IFSP process, and you'll learn to use this information as a planning tool for developing your child’s IFSP. You will also Learn what services are available and the timelines involved with the IFSP!
What is IHSS?
RFENC will help you understand the process on how the largest publicly funded, non-medical service can help families with children who have disabilities. This training will feature a PowerPoint presentation accompanied with handouts to answer who, what, how, and why In Home Supportive Services.
Positive Behavior Plan Training
Does your child get sent out of class often? Does your child get sent home? Do you get phone calls about your child’s behavior? Does your child get suspended? Does your child visit the principal frequently? If you answered 'yes' to any of those questions, your child would benefit from the protection of a Positive Behavior Plan! Come and learn what it is and how to get one. Make sure it is done right!
All About CCS
California Children's Services; Who are they and what can they do for you? Depending on income and your child's disability they may be able to help you considerably. CCS provides services for children with health related disabilities. And this training will tell you all about the "ins and outs" of CCS.
Assistive Technology 101
This training is fun and informative and generally 60 minutes or less. You'll learn what assistive technology is, who funds it, and where to get it. You'll also learn that it can be lowtech or notech, not just hightech! You don't know what you don't know, but you'll leave this training as a smiling and much more informed parent. Come with questions, leave with answers.
504 Training
If your child doesn't qualify for special education or an IEP then a 504 plan may be just the tool to ensure he/she gets equal access. A 504 Plan can include accomodations and modifications such as testing in a quiet place outside the classroom, more time for homework, or whatever is needed. If you think a 504 could work for your child, then this training will work for you!
