Personal Assistance Services (PAS) are put in place to assist a person with a disability to do tasks that he or she would normally do independently if there was no disability. When PAS are used in supported environments the person will be able, and more likely to be successfully living in the family home and be included in their community in an active and meaningful way.
To be eligible for Personal Assistance, the individual must be a Far Northern Regional
Center consumer, be 13 years or older and live in the family home.
Personal Assistance Services allows the primary caregiver the opportunity to work, take personal time for themselves, and/or complete tasks with peace of mind knowing that their child is cared for.

Personal Assistant Services are authorized through the consumer’s Far Northern Regional Center Service Coordinator. Hours are authorized on a monthly basis. Set hours will come to Rowell Family Empowerment through the authorization process.
Once an authorization has been issued, Family Paperwork has been completed, and your potential provider has completed the hiring process, Personal Assistance Services can begin.
Janeth moved to Redding when she was 13 from the Bay Area. She the second oldest of seven kids and from a young age she has helped translate for her mom. Janeth previously worked as a CNA for 4 years before she started to learn about Rowell which then led her to work for her sister, Jasmin, as well as caring for other adults with disabilities who she has grown close with them and their families. She has always found myself wanting to help people so she’s happy to be able to continue with that here at Rowell. Outside of everything, Janeth enjoys trying new foods, whether that be cooking at home or trying a new restaurant. She loves to go thrifting and being on the hunt for good pieces to be re-loved. Â Her all-time favorite pastime is to just be at home watching musicals and singing her heart out on the couch.
